Basketball and Hockey earn Athletes of the Week

Arianna Macias (basketball) and Calder Brooks (hockey) have been named the Freeman's Athletes of the Week.  

Arianna was named Subway Player of the game in the Huskies 80-64 win over the visiting StFX X-Women on January 4th.  She had a game high 20 points and 7 rebounds and is currently leading her team with a 14.1 ppg average.  Macias is a third year guard from Tampa, Florida.  The Huskies host the UPEI Panthers for a pair this weekend at the Homburg Centre.  Game times 6 & 8 p.m. Friday & Saturday. 

Fourth year captain, Calder Brooks, had a three point weekend for the Huskies in their weekend split with UNB and PEI.  In Friday's 3-1 loss to UNB, he added the lone Huskies goal.  In Thursday's explosive 9-2 win over UPEI, he added another goal and assist.  Brooks and the Huskies host UdeM Wednesday night at the forum and then travel to Wolfville to face the Axemen Saturday, January 12th.  Game times are 7 p.m.
