Morgan, Morrison named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Sept. 4 - 10, 2023

Men's football linebacker Jacob Morgan and women's soccer goalkeeper Grace Morrison have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending September 10th, 2023.

Jacob Morgan, a fifth year linebacker from Halifax, N.S., is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week ending September 10th, 2023.

In Friday's 13-5 win over the Acadia Axemen, Morgan led all players with 10 total tackes (9 solo, 2 assisted), and 0.5 sacks. His assisted sack late in the fourth quarter helped shut down the Axemen attempt at a comeback. 

Through two games this season, Morgan leads the AUS in tackles per game (8.3), and ranks second in the conference in solo (15) and total tackles (16.5).

Grace Morrison, a fourth year goalkeeper from Halifax, N.S., is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week ending September 10th, 2023.

Morrison posted 13 saves in the Huskies loss to the U SPORTS #10 ranked STFX X-Women on Saturday. Her 13 saves mark an AUS single-game season high, and personal career high. Morrison ranks fourth in the conference with 19 saves through two games played.
