McGarvey, Theoharopoulos named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Sept. 18 - 24, 2023
Men's cross country runner Rory McGarvey and women's rugby centre Xenia Theoharopoulos have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending September 24th, 2023.
Rory McGarvey, a third year cross country runner from Belleville, ON is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week ending September 24th, 2023.
McGarvey finished in second place at Saturday's Acadia Invitational Meet in Wolfville, N.S. His time of 26:39 over the 8km race was just eight seconds behind the winner.
McGarvey continues to build on last year's AUS Second Team All-Star selection, having finished second and fourth in the two AUS Cross Country meets this season.

Xenia Theoharopoulos, a second year centre from Halifax, N.S., is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week ending September 24th, 2023.
Theoharopoulos scored a try for the Huskies after a clutch interception in Saturday's loss to the Acadia Axewomen.
