Bain, Martin named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Oct. 16-22, 2023

Men's soccer defender Woody Bain and women's soccer forward Allie Martin have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending October 22, 2023.

Woody Bain, a third year defender from Dartmouth, NS is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week ending October 22, 2023.

In Saturday's 3-0 win over Mount Allison, Bain scored two goals and played the full 90 minutes, helping the Huskies clinch a playoff berth.

Bain finished the 2023 regular season as the Huskies leading scorer with five goals, rankings fifth in the AUS.

Bain and the #5 seed Huskies will take on the #4 ranked Memorial Sea-Hawks in the AUS Quarterfinal on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in Sydney, N.S.

Allie Martin, a third year forward from Halifax, NS is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week ending October 22, 2023.

In Saturday's 4-2 win over Mount Allison, Martin scored one goal and added two assists, in helping the Huskies clinch a playoff berth for the second straight season.

Martin finished the 2023 regular season with six goals, five assists, 11 points and 18 shots on goal, ranking second on the Huskies and fifth in the AUS in all three categories.

Martin and the #6 seed Huskies will take on the #3 ranked Acadia Axewomen in the AUS Quarterfinal on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. in Sydney, N.S.
