The Saint Mary's University Men's Basketball team are pleased to announce the commitment of 6'2 guard, Nico Brauner.

Nico, from Germany has used one year of eligibility from playing with the TG Wurzburg Akademie in the German Pro B professional league. After sitting out this past year at Cape Breton University, Nico will suit up for the Huskies this Fall.

"Nico is highly skilled and a very intelligent player. He has experience playing against great competition in Germany and will fit in nicely with our current team. I'm looking forward to getting him on campus and playing with the rest of the guys." Commented Head Coach, Jonah Taussig.

"I chose to come to SMU because of their strong reputation as a business school, as well as the opportunity to play for a successful basketball program. I'm looking forward to moving to Halifax and getting started." Added Nico.

The Huskies are looking to build off a 2016-2017 season in which they were the AUS runner-up, and a 6th place finisher at the USPORT National Championships.
