Huskies over Capers 100-87
Sydney, NS - The Cape Breton University CAPERS played their home-opener Friday night, but fell short to the Saint Mary's Huskies by a final score of 100-87. Martin Campbell (Upper Marlboro, MD) gave the home fans a great first impression, scoring a game high 35 points in his debut in the Sullivan Fieldhouse. For the Huskies, Osman Barrie (Ottawa, ON) put up 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
Turning point - The CAPERS made a push early in the second quarter to bring the game to within 4 points, but the Huskies caught fire, bringing the score to 50-39 by the half.
Individual Leaders
- Martin Campbell had a fantastic all-around game, scoring a game high 35 points, and added 7 rebounds, and 5 steals.
- Indiana Rotondo (Vaughan, ON), Paul Watson (Mississauga, ON) and Grant Dickinson (Alexandria, VA) each scored 10 points for the CAPERS
- Osman Barrie finished with 25 points, and grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Kemar Alleyne (Scarborough, ON) came off the bench with 21 points

The Subway Player of the Game was Osman Barrie, the CAPERS open the season 0-3, the Huskies, however, stay perfect at 3-0
