Jonah Taussig is in his 10th year as head coach for the men’s basketball team. Taussig coached the Huskies to the AUS Championship in 2014, and AUS Finals appearances on three other occasions (2015, 2017, 2019). He was named AUS Coach of the Year in 2019, and has coached the team to a 185-113 overall record (62%) coming into the 2022-23 season. 

Prior to being named head coach in 2012, Taussig was an assistant coach under Ross Quackenbush for eight seasons.

Taussig brings an impressive array of skills and experience to the Huskies.  As a player he captained the Huskies to a CIAU Basketball Championship in 1999, and was named to the CIS Tournament All-Star Team. A two-time All Canadian (1999-00 and 2000-01), Taussig was also named a four time AUS All-Star, 1997 AUS Rookie of the Year, 1999 AUS Championship MVP and three time Saint Mary's Male Athlete of the Year.

A native of Halifax and graduate of Queen Elizabeth High School, Jonah was the Operations Manager for the Department of Athletics & Recreation, before taking over as head coach. Jonah looks forward to building a strong program on the court, in the classroom and in the community.
