Huskies edge Aigles Bleus 6-5 in overtime

MONCTON – The second goal of the game by Jake Coughler, at 3:59 of the overtime period on the power play, enabled the Saint Mary's University Huskies (10-3-1=21pts, 2nd position) to defeat the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (6-5-3=15pts, 4th position) 6-5, on Saturday in front of over 50 spectators at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game.

His second goal of the game capped a three goal third period to erase a 4-1 deficit and win.

Stephen Johnson, Dawson Theede, Hunter Garlent and Aaron Berisha got the other visitor's goals. Garlent added two assists. The offensive of the Aigles Bleus was led by Subway player of the game, Maxime St-Cyr, with four markers. Robbie Graham completed the scoring. Étienne Montpetit saw 38 shots for the loss while Marc Terriault (36 minutes, 1goal 12 saves) and Xavier Potvin (27minutes, 4 goals, 21 saves) shared duties for the Huskies.

Moncton was 2 for 8 on the power play and Saint Mary's, 2 for 5. The game was fast paced and rough by times.

Moncton will visit Dalhousie University Tigers, Wednesday while the Huskies travel to Fredericton to play the Reds, on Friday.
