Tigers top Huskies 2-0 in season opener

(HALIFAX, N.S.) The Dal Tigers defeated the SMU Huskies 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Atlantic University Sport men's soccer action.

Dalhouse (2-1) scored late in the first half when Bezick Evraire potted an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute.

Saint Mary's  played an inspired second half but gave up a goal in the 79th minute by the Tigers William Wright.

SMU forced Tigers' goalkeeper Tristan Leopold into making six saves in the last 45 minutes and Leopold finished with seven saves.

Huskies' goal keeper Adam Miller made four saves in the loss and leads all AUS keepers with 23 saves thru three games.

Dalhousie outshot Saint Mary's (0-3), 15-14 for the game and held a 10-9 foul advantage.

Saint Mary's next action is a road trip Sunday September 14th when they face Mount Allison.
