Oxner’s six saves sees SMU and UdeM draw 0-0

(Halifax, NS)—Christian Oxner (Halifax) had six saves to see the Huskies secure their first point of the 2016 AUS men's soccer season with a 0-0 draw versus the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus Sunday afternoon at Huskies Stadium. 

 

Oxner's first action was 20 minutes in and was tested thru out the match.

 

His counterpart, Louis Bergeron finished with three saves as Moncton (1-0-1) gained a point in the standings and sits tied for second with four points.

 

Oxner made two saves in the first half after facing three corner kicks while all Bergeron's saves came in the second half with three.

 

Saint Mary's (0-1-1) sits tied with Memorial.

 

Moncton outshot SMU 7-6 for the game and it was 5-4 in the second half for shots.

 

SMU made four saves in the second half.

 

Both teams return to action September 17th with Moncton hosting STFX and SMU hosting Mount Allison at 3:15 p.m.
