McGill Team Challenge

McGill Team Challenge

(MONTREAL, PQ)  The McGill team challenge is easily one of the most competitive indoor track meets that Canada has to offer. Several Saint Mary's athletes as well as AUS schools competed in this year's event.  The AUS conference saw very stiff competition from the RESQ and OUA conferences. Huskies competing at the meet were John Kuto, Anissa Owen, Greg Williams, Greg Allen, Meghan Clark, and Matthew Musoke.

Anissa Owen competed in the women's 60 meter and the long jump events and earned herself two season best results of 8.24 seconds in the 60 and 5.19 meters in the long jump. In the women's 1500 meter event third year athlete Meghan Clark placed 54th with a personal best time of 5:00.55.
On the men's side Greg Williams had an outstanding race in the 600 meter event placing 39th in a personal best time of 1:26.49. Third year Halifax native Matthew Musoke competed in the grueling multi-event pentathlon. Musoke placed 9th overall with personal bests in the 60 meter hurdles and high jump, and also had a seasonal best result in the long jump event.

The Huskies had some very promising results in Montreal and they know look forward to the Saint Mary's Open at Canada Games Centre on February 7th as well as the AUS relay event at Dalhousie on February 8th.
