Andrew Peverill Commits to Huskies Cross Country and Track and Field Programs

The Saint Mary's Huskies Cross Country and Track & Field teams are delighted to welcome Andrew Peverill of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Andrew is an excellent student and will be pursuing a degree in Commerce at Saint Mary's.

Andrew is one of the top middle and long distance recruits from Atlantic Canada this year and will be joining the Huskies with many accolades already credited to his name.

Peverill has represented Nova Scotia at several National Legion Championships in both the 1500m and 3000m and has recorded personal bests of 3:56.67 and 8:44 respectfully. He is the reigning Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation (NSSAF) Cross Country and 3000m champion and holds the provincial record in the 3000m.

Head Coach Kevin Heisler notes that Peverill is "an exceptional athlete and person. He will join our program and make an immediate impact and will certainly help to strengthen the AUS conference as a whole.  Andrew is no stranger to competition and has run very well at both the local and national level."

Andrew comments that he is "excited to join the Huskies this fall and continue my path as a student-athlete. The atmosphere of the team and university's athlete community will make for an easy transition into SMU. I feel that under the guidance of coach Kevin Heisler, we can do incredible things for me personally and as a team."

Andrew will be joining his brother Jonathan who is the current Captain for the men's Cross Country and Track and Field Teams and was the 2016 Cross Country MVP.
