Huskies Track & Field Start Season with Personal Best

(Halifax, NS) The Huskies Track and Field team kick started their regular season by participating in the Athletics Nova Scotia Last Chance Meet held at the Canada Games Centre. Throughout the competition, the Huskies squad had a number of personal best performances across all event categories.

 

Highlights from throughout the competition included a 1st place finish from Ashley Murray in the triple jump event with a leap of 10.38m. First year athlete Ian Wheeler had a personal best performance in the 300m. Jack Fader jumped and sprinted to four personal best performances in the 60m, 60m hurdles, high jump and long jump.

 

In the distance events, fifth year and graduating athlete Ian MacDonald opened his season with a personal best finish in the 1000m event in a time of 2:43.64 and finishing 3rd overall. Alex Steeves also had a personal best performance in the 1000m.

Next up, the Huskies will be competing at the University of Moncton Meet on January 12th, 2019.
