Huskies add Torrie Janes to 19/20

The Saint Mary's University Women's Basketball Team is pleased to announce the commitment of Torrie Janes to join the Huskies for the 2019-20 season.

Janes a 5'6 guard from Fredericton, N.B. is a current member of the #1 ranked and defending NBIAA champion Fredericton High School Black Kats. "Torrie is a tough minded player with a winning mentality. I have watched her play and compete for both her high school team as well as multiple summers for Basketball New Brunswick. She is a strong lead guard capable of playing both guard spots. Torrie has a very high basketball IQ and we are looking forward to adding her competitive spirit to our young team," stated Head Coach Scott Munro.

Janes is a veteran of Basketball New Brunswick's provincial team program, having competed for New Brunswick at four Canadian age group National Championships, including as a member of New Brunswick's 2017 Canada Games Team. Janes will study Criminology at Saint Mary's.
