Huskies women’s basketball announce commitment of guard Addie Albert

Saint Mary's Huskies women's basketball head coach Scott Munro is pleased to announce the commitment of guard Addie Albert for the 2024-25 season.

A 5'11 guard out of Riverview High School, Albert was one of the top high school players in New Brunswick this season, averaging over 15 points and six assists per game for the Royals.

A native of Riverview, N.B., Albert has represented her home province of New Brunswick on several levels, including at the 2023 U17 Canada Basketball National Championship.

"When I toured Saint Mary's for the first time, I realized this would be a great school for me because of my passion for business and love for basketball," says Albert. "I am looking forward to progressing academically and as an athlete. Being coached by a very high level and experienced coach will help me become the best player possible. After watching the Saint Mary's women's basketball team, I am very excited to play with such great players, while meeting and making new friends along the way."

"We are excited to have Addie join our group," adds Huskies head coach Scott Munro. "I have seen Addie play a lot over the last year in high school and for Basketball New Brunswick.  I think she is just scratching the surface of her potential. She is a very athletic player who should fit nicely into our up-tempo style. She runs the court very well and can play multiple spots. She had a strong summer playing for BNB last year and we are looking forward to having her progress and be a part of our team."

Albert will be studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary's.

Albert joins a Huskies Women's Basketball program that have won six AUS Champions, including back-to-back Championships in 2024 and 2023, and are three-time National Medallists (Silver: 2013-14, Bronze: 2015-16 & 2012-13).
