Huskies blank Aigles Bleues 4-0

MONCTON -- Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-3-0=2pts, 8th position) were not able to get organized efficiently and were blanked 4-0 by Saint Mary's University Huskies (3-1-0=6pts, 2nd position) in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game Sunday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Shea Demale, shorthanded, in the second period and Caitlin Pejkovic and Taylor Keeping, on the power play and Siobban Birch, all in the third period, were the Huskies markswomen. The visitors led 40-26 on shots on goal, including 15 in the middle period. Audrey Berthiaume was credited with the loss in goal and Subway player of the game, Rebecca Clark, the win.

The game was difficult at times for the Blue and Gold as the Huskies applied pressure. The visitors scored twice on the power play and once, shorthanded.  The Aigles did not score on seven power plays, including a 5 on 3 while the Huskies were 2 for 5.

Moncton will host Mount Allison University Mounties, Friday at 7p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. The Huskies visit the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
