Huskies women’s hockey announce commitment of defender Eva MacKay

Saint Mary's Huskies women's hockey head coach Chris Larade is pleased to announce the commitment of defender Eva MacKay for the 2024-25 season.

A 5'6 defender from New Maryland, New Brunswick, MacKay played for the Cambridge Rivulettes in the U22 Ontario Women's Hockey League this past season, scoring 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 42 games.

"We are very excited to add Eva's overall defensive game to our lineup for the upcoming season," says Huskies head coach Chris Larade. "Eva is a very mature young player that plays the game the way its meant to be played. I see a lot of leadership qualities in Eva in how she conducts herself, and we're very confident she will be impactful right away for us."

"I'm excited to be closer to family and have new experiences," says MacKay. "I expect to bring a fun attitude and aggressive playing style to the Huskies and can't wait to get started!"

MacKay will be studying a Bachelor of Science at Saint Mary's, majoring in Psychology.
