Chris returns for his 12th season as head coach at Saint Mary's University, having accumulated an overall regular season and playoff record of 181-98-17 over the past eight seasons. He has led the Huskies to their last three AUS championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018 with those teams having strong showings at the U SPORTS national championship tournament, highlighted by the program’s first ever medal, a bronze in 2016. 

The Huskies have been a dominant force during the last few seasons and have been nationally ranked in 2014-2015 and throughout most of 2016 and 2017, having reached as high as a #1 national ranking in the USports polls during the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 season. Larade is a three-time AUS and two-time U SPORTS Coach of the Year award recipient, having first won both in 2016 and 2017, making him the first coach to claim the award in back-to-back seasons.

Chris has also been involved with Hockey Nova Scotia's High Performance Program at the U18 and U16 levels, winning 5 Atlantic Challenge Cups. He most recently served as head coach of Team Atlantic’s entry at the 2017 U18 National Championships held in Regina, Saskatchewan. Larade was also an assistant coach for Team Nova Scotia at the 2011 Canada Winter Games, which were held in Halifax.

His past experiences include three years as head coach of the Metro Boston Pizza Female U18AAA program of the NSFMHL where the team captured three provincial and league titles, two Atlantic silver medals, and in which he was twice named  Coach of the Year. Prior to moving to Halifax, Chris served as assistant coach for the StFX X-Women's varsity program where the team captured an AUS title and appeared at two USports national championships.

Chris holds a High Performance 1 and Level 3 theory coaching certification and is a graduate of both the Human Kinetics and Education programs at St. Francis Xavier University. Chris’ wife Sarah is a former varsity hockey player herself, and live in Halifax with their kids Paige and Blake.
