Huskies end season with loss to Acadia

 

(Halifax, NS)--The Acadia Axewomen used eight second-half try's to defeat the Saint Mary's  Huskies 74-0 Saturday afternoon in AUS rugby action.

 

Acadia led 20-0 after four trys in what was a close first-half.

 

The Axewomen scored eight second half trys, converting on seven of them.

 

With the win Acadia improves to 4-2 and will face 2-4 UPEI next week in the AUS playoffs.

 

The StFX X-Women are the top-seed at 6-0.

 

Saint Mary's ends their season at 0-6 and several players played their final game for the Huskies.

 

Danielle Cable (Belnan, NS) Amy Thompson (Halifax, NS) were fifth-year seniors while four-year players included Ryan Bell (New Glasgow, NS), Morgan Carruthers (Westville, NS), Sarah McNeil (Lower Sackville, NS), Kate Murray (Dartmouth, NS) and Tessa O'Donnell (Souris, PE).
