Grace Morrison named U SPORTS Women's Soccer Player of the Week

TORONTO — Max Losier (Laval) has been named U SPORTS Men's Volleyball player of the week, while Grace Morrison (Saint Mary's) and Logan Rieck (StFX) have earned Men's and Women's Soccer players of the week. Katie Chomiak (Nipissing) and Kyle Maksimovich (UPEI) have been named U SPORTS Hockey players of the week, while Anna Mollenhauer (Victoria) and Alexina Tardif-Samson (Laval) are this week's Women's Field Hockey and Women's Rugby players of the week.

Third-year goalkeeper Grace Morrison stood tall against the UNB REDS, leading the Saint Mary's Huskies to a 2-0 victory. Morrison turned aside a season-high 11 shots to claim her fourth clean sheet of the season.

In the first half alone, the REDS outshot the Huskies 8-1, but Morrison managed to keep deadlock despite being peppered with shots.

Morrison made her most impressive stop in the second half, guessing correctly on a penalty kick to keep the clean sheet intact.
