Huskies top Moncton 3-0 to finish weekend with 4 wins

(Halifax, NS)--Day three of the AUS Volleyball weekend tournament concluded with Saint Mary's beating Moncton 3-0.vThe Huskies are 4-1 to start the young AUS season.

Saint Mary's took the opening set 25-16 and had 11 kills versus nine for Moncton.

Set two went to SMU 25-20 with both squads producing eight kills.

Saint Mary's clinched the third set 25-19 with 15 kills.

Jaime Rourke (Mission, BC) had nine kills and Shelby Carlton (Strathroy, Ont.) eight for Saint Mary's.

Rourke added 15 digs while Kristina Adler (Brampton, Ont.) had 13 for the Huskies.

Rachelle Lemoine (St-Boniface, MB) paced Moncton with eight kills while teammates Christelle Bertin (Beresford, NB) had seven and Pascale Doiron (Caraquet, NB) six.

The Huskies led in kills (34-28) and digs (58-49) in the win.

Moncton drops to 3-2 on the year and both teams return to action versus each other November 4th at 7pm in Halifax at the Homburg Centre.
