Huskies Volleyball announce two recruits to 18/19 lineup

Saint Mary's University and women's volleyball coach Darren Russell are pleased to announce the commitment of Olivia Bell and Renee Cleveland to the Huskies lineup for the 2018-2019 season.

A 6'0 middle, Bell has been a member of the Nova Scotia provincial team program since 2013, and most recently, a member of the 2017 Canada Games volleyball team that competed in Winnipeg, MB this past summer.

"I had been considering SMU for a while and I had researched their science programs, but the team and coaching staff really helped me finalize my decision.  They are such a great group and the girls really made me feel at home.  I can't wait to be part of the family next fall" replied Bell.

Renee, a 5'6 libero was a member of the NS Canada Games (selected for the Youth National Development Program), Ecole Secondaire de Clare (team captain and MVP 2016) and most recently the Southwest Fusion Club Team (VNS Provincial MVP and two time all-star).

"During my visit at Saint Mary's I was very impressed with their academic and athletic programs. I chose Saint Mary's because of their great volleyball program and coaching staff. I am really looking forward to being part of the Huskies volleyball team next year" commented Cleveland.

"We are really excited to have Olivia and Renee join our Huskies family.  Both Olivia and Renee are very physical players that are hard-working and proven leaders on the court.  Both are very versatile and have the ability to make an impact right away as we continue to build one of the top teams in Canada", commented Coach Russell.
