Huskies sweep weekend series over Memorial

(HALIFAX, N.S.)—The Saint Mary's Huskies defeated the Memorial University Sea-Hawks on Sunday afternoon 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-17) in Atlantic university sport women's volleyball action from the Homburg Centre.

Erin Smith (Moncton, NB) and Maddie Clarke (Ottawa, Ont.) each recorded double-digit kills in the victory (13 and 12) respectively for the Huskies.

The Huskies held a 45-28 kill advantage in the match.

Kierstin Fey (Selkirk, MB) paced the Sea-Hawks with eight kills and 15 digs while Jordan Hutchison (Kentville, NS) had seven and Sarah Dawe (Mount Pearl, NL) added six in the loss.

Saint Mary's improves to 8-3 in conference play while Memorial drops to 5-6 on the year.

Anna Watt (Calgary, AB) finished with nine kills for SMU while teammate Lindsay Donovan (London, Ont.) had seven.

Up next for Memorial is a January 19^th home match at 7p.m. versus the 0-11 UNB Varsity Reds while SMU hosts 3-8 University de Moncton January 20^th at 2p.m.
