Axewomen top Huskies 3-0
(Wolfville, NS) The host Acadia Axewomen posted a 3 game sweep of the Saint Mary's Huskies who drop to 1-1 in tournament play and 3-4 on the season.
The Axewomen improve to 6-1 and 2-0 in tournament play.
Lucy Glen-Carter posted a match high 10 kills and kill percentage of 0.280 in the Axewomen's win over Saint Mary's.
A tight first set opened up on two Huskies attack errors followed by an offensive onslaught by Lauryn Renzella, Lucy Glen-Carter and Peyton DeWolfe that extended an Acadia lead to 16-10. The Axewomen weathered off the story of return kills by the Huskies and squeezed out a 25-19 win with help from Hannah Helm's kill and service ace that scored the last two of three points

Tied at six, a bad set by the Huskies combined with a Lauryn Renzella kill started the breakaway by the Axewomen. A kill by Hannah Helm solidified the win by giving Acadia a 19-9 lead and eventual 25-15.
The fourth and eventual final set had Acadia pull out to a 11-4 lead and never relinquishing a lead less than five points in a 25-19 Axewomen win.
Huskie Bethany Smith delivered 4 kills and was named the Saint Mary's Player of the Game.
Axewomen Lauryn Renzella and Peyton DeWolf delivered 9 kills each. Regan Herrington posted a match high 26 assists in the win.
The Huskies take on UNB in their second and last game of the day at Horton High School at 7:00 pm and the Axewomen host Moncton at 7:00 pm.
