Volleyball Announce Four Recruits to the 2019/20 lineup

Saint Mary's Department of Athletics & Recreation and women's volleyball coach Darren Russell, are pleased to announce the commitment of Megan Bruhm, Hannah Stonnell, Stephanie Wallace and MacKenzie Rourke to the Huskies lineup for the 2019-2020 season. 

A 5'11 corner hitter from Hubley NS, Bruhm has been a member of the Nova Scotia Provincial Team program since 2015.  Megan has played for Sir John A MacDonald High School for the past three season and on the NS Canada Cup team in 2018.  In 2018, Megan was named MVP of the high school provincials. 

Stonnell, a 6'0 left side from Victoria BC, was a member of the Victoria Club Volleyball Team.  In 2016 Hannah captured a gold medal at the BC Summer Games and in 2018 she won a silver medal at the u18 Canadian Nationals.   

Wallace, a 5'11 left side from Antigonish, NS has been a member of the Kempe U18 Volleyball Club and Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals where she was captain.  Stephanie has played for Team Nova Scotia from 2015-2017.

Rourke a 5'8 libero from Mission BC, and sister of current player Jaime Rourke, has been a member of the Force Volleyball Club since 2012.  MacKenzie has won Provincial Gold for four consecutive years and was name Provincial MVP.  In 2016 she won a bronze medal at the BC Summer Games and in 2017 she captured gold at the Canadian Nationals. 

"We are really excited to have Megan, Hannah, Stephanie and MacKenzie join our Huskies family.  All four of these girls are very strong, physical players that are hard-working and proven leaders on the court.  I fully expect these players to make an impact right away as we continue to build one of the top teams in Canada", commented Coach Russell.
