Huskies announce commitment of Breanna Golding for 2024-25 season

Saint Mary's women's volleyball head coach Darren Russell is pleased to announce the commitment of Breanna Golding to the Huskies line-up for the 2024-25 Atlantic University Sport season.

A 6'1" left side hitter from Pickering, ON, Breanna Golding joins the Huskies having previously played with the Humber College Hawks, where she was one of the top players in the OCAA, amassing 480 kills in just two seasons, and helping lead the Hawks to back-to-back OCAA Championships and undefeated regular seasons.

In 2016-17, Golding was named OCAA Female Freshman of the Year across all sports, as well as the OCAA Volleyball Rookie of the Year and a West Division First Team All-Star, as she helped lead the Hawks to an 18-0 season and the OCAA Championship title.

She followed that up in 2017-18 by being named a CCAA Second Team All-Canadian and OCAA First Team All-Star, and once again helping lead the Hawks to an 18-0 season and the OCAA Championship, where she was named OCAA Championship Most Valuable Player.

"I had a chance to watch Breanna play a few years ago and I was amazed by her raw power and court awareness", said Huskies head coach Darren Russell. "She will bring a high level of competitiveness and experience to our team."

Golding describes herself as a player that enjoys the process, and is inspired by hard work and dedication, matched with kindness and empathy.

Golding will be studying a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology at Saint Mary's.
