Darren Russell enters his 13th season as Huskies head coach.

Hailing from Truro Nova Scotia, Darren was previous the assistant coach at SMU for eight seasons. He has guided the SMU Huskies to the AUS finals in eight out of his 12 years, capturing two AUS Championships.

Darren was named the AUS Coach of the Year in 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2021-22 seasons. Darren has been a head coach at the club and college level and was the head coach for the Nova Scotia Women's Canada Game team that captured 4th place in 2009. Darren has partially completed his level 4 certification and continues to be one of the leading women's volleyball coaches in the Atlantic Region.
