The Acadia Axewomen won their first Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball championship in program history, defeating the Saint Mary’s Huskies in three sets (25-18, 27-25, 20-18) in game three of the AUS final, Tuesday night at Stu Aberdeen Court in Wolfville, NS.

The Saint Mary’s Huskies won three straight sets in a thrilling five set (23-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-9, 15-6) comeback victory over the Acadia Axewomen to force a decisive game three of the Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball championship final. It was a statement win for the Huskies, who lost the first two sets for the second straight match, and found themselves a set away from the series ending, only to rally back, much to the delight of a sold-out crowd of over 800 fans at the Homburg Centre.

The 2023-24 Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball awards were announced on Thursday, with several members of the Saint Mary's Huskies being honoured among the league's best. Left side Olivia Bell was named AUS Most Valuable Player, as well as a First Team All-Star, middle Madison Hann receives the Student-Athlete Community Service Award, left side Emilia Mikanovich was named a First Team All-Star, and right side Megan Bruhm was named a Second Team All-Star.
