John Kuto Wins UNB/STU Invitational

The second race of the season proved to be victorious for John Kuto this passed weekend on the beautiful Odell Park in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Kuto was first overall in the 8km race in a time of 25:50.3. Kuto was preceded by a string of St.F.X men who held positions second through seventh. First year Huskie Jonathan Peverill was the second St. Mary's athlete across the line in 28:25.2 followed closely by Angus MacDonald. In his first race of the season, Cameron Taylor was closely behind MacDonald proving his fitness and strength over the hills throughout Odell Park.

For the women, a number of personal best times were earned over the 6km race. Meghan Clark was the first St. Mary's Huskie across the line finishing in 17th position. Clark was closely followed by teammate Monique Muise who finished in18th position. Muise ran a personal best time over the 6km race giving her lots of confidence leading to the hilly Moncton course on October 4th. Brianna Cregan also ran a personal best time and will be looking to take off even more time in the coming races.
The next race will be the Moncton Invitational on October 4th. The women race at 12:00 followed by the men at 12:45.
