UNB/STU Invitational 2017

The AUS Cross Country season kicked off this past weekend with the first meet being held at Odell Park in Fredericton. With the morning mist burning off before race time, the temperature skyrocketed into the high 20's creating tough conditions for the athletes.

In the women's race, the Huskies were represented solely by Charlotte Mawer, who was donning the maroon and white for the first time. Mawer placed 35th overall in a time of 27:41 in the 6km race.

Michelle Reddy of Dalhousie placed 1st in a time of 23:40, while St.FX placed 1st as a team with 39 points.

On the men's side, first year Ryan Fraccaro was the first Huskie across the line placing 32nd in a time of 30:27 in the 8km race. Following closely behind was fourth year Ian MacDonald placing 34th in 30:34. Stephen Goodyear was the next SMU runner placing 38th in 30:57. Alex Steeves and Aaron MacDonald were also wearing the maroon and white for the first time, placing 44th and 46th, with Chris Lee rounding out the squad, placing 48th respectively.

Alex Neuffer of St.FX placed 1st in a time of 26:47, while Dalhousie placed 1st as a team with 40 points.

Next up for the Huskies is their home meet, the SMU/Dal Invitational, being held at Point Pleasant Park on Saturday, September 23rd.
