Freeman, Pasma named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Sept. 12-18

Men's soccer player Sean Freeman and women's soccer player Julia Pasma have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18.

Sean Freeman, a second year forward from Halifax, N.S., is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 12-18.

A second year wing forward from Halifax, NS, Freeman scored four goals and added an assist in a pair of Huskies road wins this weekend. On Saturday, Freeman scored three goals, including the game winning goal, and recorded seven shots in the Huskies 3-2 win over the UPEI Panthers. He was named Subway Player of the Game for his efforts. On Sunday, Freeman scored the game winning goal, recorded two shots and added an assist in the Huskies 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties.

Through four games played, Freeman leads the AUS in goals (5), points (6), shots on goal (8), penalty kick goals (2) and game winning goals (3).

Julia Pasma, a first year midfielder from Georgetown, ON, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 12-18.

Pasma was instrumental to the Huskies four-point weekend, as she played the full 90 minutes in the Huskies 0-0 draw at UPEI on Saturday, and 3-2 win over Mount Allison on Sunday. During Sunday's match, Pasma recorded two shots on goal and was involved on teammate Anelise Karakostas' opening goal. Head coach Marisa Colzie highlighted Pasma's defensive ability as a holding midfielder, consistently breaking up counter attacks and securing the ball in the midfield.
