Coach Tommy Kanichis will be entering his third year with the Huskies coaching staff and his first year as the Recruiting Coordinator and Receivers Coach. Prior to this position, he was the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Huskies from 2020-22.

Before joining the Huskies, Coach Kanichis has Head Coached and been the Offensive Coordinator for several Ontario rep programs (Ottawa Sooners, North Halton Crimson Tide) and ran his own athletic training facility (NextGen Football), focusing on grassroots football development in the Ottawa community.

Coach Kanichis spent three years with the University of Waterloo Warriors as an Running Backs and Offensive Line coach, as well as acting as the Scouting Coordinator, helping put together one of the most potent and exciting offences in U SPORTS at the time. Coach Kanichis most recently was the offensive coordinator for the 2022 East-West Bowl (Team East) and the Offensive Coordinator for U18 Team Nova Scotia in 2020-21.

Coach Kanichis spent his U SPORTS playing days with the Carleton Ravens under Head Coach Steve Sumarah and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
