Halifax, NS: In their home opener, the Huskies Men's Basketball Team dismantled the X-Men 98-62 in front of a packed house at the Homburg Centre.
Saint Mary's jumped out to a 29-12 lead in the first quarter with Brian Rouse, Marquis Clayton, Achuil Lual and Osman Barrie all chipping in points.
The Huskies shot 47% from the floor and 39% from beyond the arc. Achuil Lual lead all scorers with 24 points, Osman Barrie finished with a double double on 21 points and 14 rebounds, Brian Rouse had 18 and 9 rebounds. Roudning out the scoring for the Huskies, Marquis Clayton finished with 17 points and a team high 12 assists.
For the visitors, Julius Antoine was the team scoring leader with 14 points, followed by Alex Arthur with 13 points.
The Huskies will host UNB November 14th and 15th at the Homburg Centre. Both games at 8 p.m.
