Garlent gets 3 points, in Huskies 5-1 win over UdeM

Moncton, NB – Frustration was evident on Friday evening as the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-8-0=6pts, 7th position) fell 5-1 to the visiting Saint Mary's University Huskies (4-6-1=9pts, 6th position) in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in front of over 750 spectators.

This was the blue and gold fourth loss in a row. The Huskies scored twice in the second and three times in the third, including two on the power play, to win the game and gain on the Aigles in sixth place.

Anthony Repaci and Taylor Burke, in the second and Ben Duffy, Bronson Beaton and Kyle Pereira, in the third, scored for the visitors.

Jean-François Plante (Danick Emond, Allain Saulnier) did give the Aigles a 1-0 lead in the third minute of the second period after a scoreless first. The Huskies also led largely on shots on goal with 36 to 21, including 17 in the middle period. Brandon Thibeau took the loss and Eric Brassard, the win.

The Acadia University Axemen (6-5-0=12pts, 5th position), will play the Aigles Bleus on Saturday (tonight) evening, at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
