Meet Results - Athletics NS Provincial Championships

The Saint Mary's Huskies Track and Field team competed throughout Nova Scotia this weekend. Starting on Saturday the team competed at the Canada Games Center in Halifax at the Athletics Nova Scotia Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Jonathan Peverill finished second in the men's 1500m with a personal best time of 4:05. Albert Opoku finished fourth in the men's 60m with a personal best time of 7.13. Samantha Fader finished fourth in the women's 1000m with a personal best time of 3:11. Greg Williams placed sixth in the men's 600m in a personal best of 1:23. Other personal bests included Drew LeFrank with a 2:34 1000m, Stephen Goodyear with a 2:42 1000m, Chris Lee with a 2:46 1000m and Paige Roznak with a 3:23 1000m. On Sunday, the Husky throwers travelled to the Cougar Dome in Truro.

The team recorded personal best throws from Gabby Walthers and Sarah Munroe.

On top of the great performances by the Huskies this weekend, the 10-person squad for the McGill Team Challenge in Montreal next weekend were named on Sunday. The squad includes: Sam Fader, Ashley Murray, Jonathan Peverill, Chris Lee, Stephen Goodyear, Drew LeFrank, Dominic Collie, Albert Opoku, Greg Williams, and Daylon Stitt – Williams.
