Pegg, Dunlop & MacDonald to compete at 2026 U SPORTS Track & Field Championships in Winnipeg

Three members of the Saint Mary's Huskies track & field team - jumper Ciaran MacDonald and throwers Mason Dunlop and Katie Pegg - will look to finish their season on a high note as they compete at this weekend's U SPORTS Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, MB from March 5-7.

The 2026 AUS Track & Field Championships drew to a close Saturday as the SMU Huskies ended their championships with one major award winner, 10 medals (one gold, two silver, seven bronze), three school records, and three athletes heading to the U SPORTS Championship in two weeks.

Huskies open season at Athletics NS Last Chance Meet

The Saint Mary's Huskies track & field team opened their season at the Athletics Nova Scotia Last Chance Meet, held November 21st and 22nd at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax. The meet brought together athletes from across the region, and the Huskies delivered several standout results on the track and in the field as they continue preparations for the upcoming AUS indoor season.
Huskies recognize school-record 138 Academic All-Canadians

The Saint Mary's University Huskies Department of Athletics celebrated the academic success of their student-athletes on Tuesday morning with the annual Huskies Academic All-Canadian breakfast ceremony. A new Saint Mary's record of 138 student-athletes were awarded the standing of U SPORTS Academic All Canadian. U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian distinction is one of the highest recognitions a university varsity athlete may receive. To earn U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian distinction, a varsity student-athlete must be enrolled full-time and achieve an average of 80% or higher in the academic year.
