Capers defeat Huskies 55-48

Sydney, NS - First year player MacKenzee Ryan (Glace Bay, NS) made her first at the Sullivan Fieldhouse, leading her Cape Breton University CAPERS to their first win of the young season over the Saint Mary's Huskies 55-48. She finished as the top scorer with 15 points and also contributed 3 assists. Alison Keough (Marion Bridge, NS) also had a big game. She scored 13 points and secured 13 rebounds. As for the Huskies, Jasmine Cain (Halifax, NS) led her team with 14 points.

Turning point - Jasmine Cain hit back to back three pointer to bring SMU to within 3 points with 3:27 remaining in the game, but the CAPERS shut the door after that by not allowing the Huskies to score again after that point. This was in large part by timely steals by Keough and Valentina Primossi (Trieste, ITA).
