Visiting Panthers top Huskies in Sunday Rugby Action

(Halifax, NS)--The UPEI Panthers defeated the SMU Huskies 54-7 Sunday afternoon in AUS rugby action at Huskies Stadium.

Terrisa Lynch (Mirimichi, NB) led all scorers with four first-half trys in the Panther's win.

The third-year winger helped the Panthers out to a 32-0 halftime lead.

Holly Jones (Riverview, NB) added three trys of her own in the second half for UPEI.

First-year fly half Sydney Mann (Stouffville, ON) recorded the try for Saint Mary's and converted her own try.

Panthers, Terrisa Lynch (Mirimichi, NB) was named Player of the Game for her outstanding performance in the game.

Both teams hit the road for their next matches Friday night.

UPEI (1-1 2pts) visits CIS No. 5-ranked STFX X-Women (2-0 4pts) while SMU (0-2) travels to CIS No. 7-ranked Acadia Axewomen (1-1 2pts).

Kick-off is set for 7 pm September 23rd.
