(Halifax) In AUS women's soccer action on Sunday, the Saint Mary's Huskies and the Mount Allison Mounties were engaged in a tight battle with only a handful of chances for each team in the Huskies home opener.
In the 29th minute, Jane Rouse (St. Andrews, NB) scored to give the Mounties a 1-0 lead which they took into halftime.
In the second half, both teams kept up the defence and it seemed like they would not be able to get on the board again.
That was until Subway player of the game Jolene MacIntyre (Centreville, NS) tallied a clutch marker in injury time to make the final score 1-1.
The Huskies' next game is on the road against the Universite de Moncton Aigle Bleues on Saturday at 1:00 pm. The Mounties play next at home against the Acadia Axewomen on Friday at 5:00 pm.
