(Halifax, NS). In AUS women's soccer action at Huskies Stadium, the Acadia Axewomen easily got past the Saint Mary's Huskies in a display of offensive firepower.
Acadia got things started when Megan Earle (Mount Pearl, NL) scored in the 12th minute to make it 1-0. The Axewomen got another in the 15th minute when Subway player of the game Michelle Pryde (Calgary, AB) converted to extend the lead to 2-0. They kept it up when Jenna Howell (Dartmouth, NS) tallied in the 20th minute to further widen the lead to 3-0.
Saint Mary's got on the board when Jessie MacPherson(Dartmouth, NS) potted a marker in the 27th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1. Acadia quickly responded when Pryde scored her second of the game in the 30th minute to make the score 4-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Acadia continued the scoring spree when Katie Ross (Bedford, NS) scored in the 59th minute to make it 5-1. The Axewomen provided further insurance when Allie Scovil (Hubley, NS) tallied in the 83rd minute to bring the game to its final score of 6-1.
Both teams are back in action this Saturday at 1:00 pm. The Axewomen visit the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues and the Huskies host the Cape Breton Capers.
