UdeM Invitational - Cross Country

The Saint Mary's men and women's cross country completed their last cross country meet as part of the regular cross country season this past weekend at the UdeM Invitational held in Moncton, New Brunswick. Known for it's hilly and uneven grass terrain, the Huskies exercised some conservation leading into the AUS Championships on October 31st in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Meghan Clark has consistently been the top female finisher for the Huskies this season and she held her top place finishing this past weekend covering the hilly 6km race in 29:50.30. Lauren Ross was the second Huskie finisher followed by Rylee Mezzarobba. Teammates Colleen Wilson and Michelle Reddy of Dalhousie University were first and second respectively followed by rookie Hana Marmura of St. F. X.

On the men's side, second year athletes Jonathan Peverill and Ian MacDonald worked together over the 8km race. Peverill led MacDonald pushing him to complete the race in an effort that easily would have translated into a personal best time under normal racing conditions. Peverill was first across the line in a time of 29:43.20. MacDonald and Jagmeet Brar rounded out the top three Huskies. Teammates Alex Cyr and Cal Dewolfe of St. F. X were first and second respectively, followed by Will Russell of Dalhousie University.
