Dalhousie/Saint Mary’s Cross Country Open

(Halifax, NS)  The Saint Mary's men and woman's cross country team entered the second race of the season this past Saturday with an exhibition meet co-hosted by Dalhousie and Saint Mary's University. The women opened with a 6km race followed by an 8km race for the men. For the Saint Mary's woman, 3rd year student athlete and Captain Charlotte Mawer led the Huskies covering the 6km race in a time of 26:35 and improving her time from the previous race. Paige Roszak and Sarah Polak were second and third across the line for the Huskies.

 

On the men's side, first year student athlete Andrew Peverill opened his first race as a Huskie with a 5th place finish covering the 8km race in a time of 26:31. Co-Captain Jonathan Peverill was 10th overall in the AUS in a time of 28:13. Rookie Ryan Fraccaro was 3rd across the line for the Huskies in a time of 29:19. The men's team recorded a fourth place finish. 

 

Next up, the Huskies will compete at the RSEQ/AUS Interlock meet held on Thanksgiving weekend. The race will take place on the historic Plains of Abraham.
