Huskies Cross Country Head into Atlantic University Sport Championships

(Antigonish, NS) It was a beautiful day up at St.F.X University this past Saturday as the men and women's Cross Country team had their final regular season meet leading into the AUS Championships on October 28th. On the women's side, second year student-athlete Paige Roszak recovered well from last weeks competition and led the Huskies by finishing first among her teammates covering the 6km race in a time of 26:13. Roszak was followed by teammate Charlotte Mawer in 26:57. Solana Purdy was close behind in her first race of the season finishing her race in 28:08.  

 

On the men's side, Drew LeFrank opened his first race of the season covering the 8km race in a time of 28:15 and was first among his teammates. Training partner and first year student-athlete Owen Bachelor was close behind in a time of 29:13. This was the first race wearing the maroon and white for Bachelor. Aaron MacDonald rounded out the top three Huskies across the finish line finishing in a time of 30:14.

 

Full results of the meet can be found HERE. Next up, the Huskies will compete at the AUS Championships on October 28th at Acadia University. The men and women will race to compete at the U-Sport Championships in Victoria, British Columbia on November 12th. Good luck to both teams in the final few weeks leading into the Championship race.
