Peverill Brothers Compete at U-Sport National Championships

Andrew and Jonathan Peverill of the men's Cross Country team traveled to Victoria, British Columbia this past weekend to compete at the U-Sport Cross Country Championships. The championships were hosted by the University of Victoria and held at Beacon Hill Park on Sunday November 12th. The conditions were tough with heavy rainfall during the 10km race. Andrew Peverill entered the championships as the top AUS rookie and finished in 47th position with a time of 32:28. Andrew was the 5th AUS finisher. This is the best finish for a Saint Mary's male athlete since Joel Bergman's 49th position as a rookie in 2009. Huskies captain Jonathan Peverill ran a strong race finishing 118th in a time of 34:46. Full individual and team results can be found HERE as well as footage from the race. Congratulations to Andrew and Jonathan on their performances.

Next up, the Huskies will be transitioning to shorter distances and will turn their focus to indoor Track and Field. The first race will be held on December 2nd at the Canada Games Centre.
