SMU Men's & Women's Soccer Teams Represented on All-Star Teams
Atlantic University Sport has announced the 2021 men's and women's soccer all-stars and major award winners as selected by the conference's 10 head coaches following regular season play.
This year 4 Huskies have been named all-stars.
Women's Soccer
Third Year Defender, Kamryn Brimicombe (Waverly NS / Arts) was nominated second team all-star for her spectacular season patrolling the Huskies back line. Brimicombe played in 11 games, starting in all but one, and registered 2 goals off of 11 shots on the season.
The Women's team finished 9th overall on the season, and did not make playoffs.

Men's Soccer
The SMU Men's team registered 3 all-stars;
5th year Mid-Fielder, Cian Tousignant – O'Siadhail (Timberlea NS / Arts) was named first team all-star for his work in helping to propel the Huskies to one of their best seasons in recent years. Tousignant – O'Siadhail started in all 12 regular season games this year, registering 4 goals, and assisting on two others for 6 points on the season.
Both 5th year Sumit Malik (Dartmouth NS / Science), and 1st year Sean Freeman (Halifax NS / Science) were named to second team all-star roster for the Huskies.
Malik was a mainstay in the Huskies mid-field this season, starting all 12 games of the regular season, and registering 4 goals and assisting on 3 others for 7 points on the season.
Freeman, a freshman, was a revelation for Head Coach Mesut Mert's squad this season. Starting 8 of 12 games, the young Husky registered 7 goals and 5 assists, good for 12 points on the season. Freeman finished in 4th place in regular season play for goals scored, 5th in assists, and 4th overall in points.
The Men's team finished 4th overall on the season, and have their first playoff game in the AUS Championships Thursday against UPEI.
