Sumarah, Cleveland named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Feb. 21-27

Men's hockey goaltender Justin Sumarah and women's volleyball player Renee Cleveland have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 21-27, sponsored by Outcast Upcycled Nutrition.

Men's hockey goaltender Justin Sumarah (Halifax, NS) is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 21-27.
 
The first-year goaltender made the first two starts of his career and his heroics between the pipes led the Huskies to a pair of big wins. On Friday night, Sumarah saved 28 of 29 shots in leading the Huskies to a 4-1 win over Moncton. On Saturday night, Sumarah saved 47 of 50 shots to lead the Huskies to a comeback 4-3 win over the top ranked UNB REDS and was named Subway Player of the Game. For the weekend, Sumarah saved 75 of 79 shots faced for an outstanding .950 save percentage. 

Women's volleyball player Renee Cleveland (Saint-Martin, NS) is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 21-27.

In Saturday's game against Acadia, Cleveland, a third-year libero, recorded 15 digs and three assists in the Huskies 3-2 loss to the Axewomen. The following day, Cleveland led an outstanding team defensive performance with 17 digs and three assists in a 3-1 win over #6 ranked Dalhousie Tigers. 
 
On the season, Cleveland ranks second in the conference in digs with 190, and second on the Huskies with 27 assists.
