Freeman, Zinn, Tousignant-Osiadhail named AUS Men's Soccer All-Stars

Saint Mary's Huskies forward Sean Freeman (Halifax, NS) and defender Cameron Zinn (Bridgewater, NS) have been named AUS First Team All-Stars, while midfielder Cian Tousignant-Osiadhail (Timberlea, NS) has been named an AUS Second Team All-Star.

A second-year commerce major, Sean Freeman tied for the AUS lead with nine goals on the season, and led the conference with five game-winning-goals. Freeman started 10 games for the Huskies and led the team in goals (9), game-winning goals (5), points (10), shots (25) and shots on goal (15). 

This marks Freeman's second consecutive AUS All-Star selection, as he was named a Second Team All-Star in 2021, and was also named to the U SPORTS All-Rookie Team that season.

A fourth-year science major, Cameron Zinn started all 12 games for the Huskies. The centreback one goal on the season, a game-winning-goal against Moncton on Oct. 8, and added seven shots. His consistent defensive play helped lead the Huskies to the third fewest goals allowed on the season (12). 

A fifth-year arts major, Cian Tousignant-Osiadhail started 11 games for the Huskies and led the team with four assists and added one goal and seven shots. His consistent playmaking in the midfield combined with his ability to deliver quality free kicks and corner kicks made Tousignant-Osiadhail one of the most valuable defenders in the league.

This marks Tousignant-Osiadhail's second consecutive AUS All-Star selection, as he was named a First Team All-Star in 2021.

Freeman, Zinn and Tousignant-Osiadhail helped lead the Huskies to a 6-3-3 regular season record. The Huskies now head to the AUS Men's Soccer Championships in Sydney, NS, where they will face the #5 seed Moncton Aigles Bleus in the quarterfinal, Wednesday at 6 p.m. Atlantic.
