(Halifax, NS) The Saint Mary's Huskies captured the annual "Halifax Cup" trophy in a 7-0 exhibition win over crosstown rivals, Dalhousie.
This was the second exhibition win of 2020 for SMU, who posted a 2-1 win over StFX in Antigonish on January 3rd.
Saint Mary's led 2-9 after one period, and 5-0 after two on 38 shots. They were 2 for 6 on the power play, while Dalhousie was 0 for 4.
Scorers for the Huskies were: Madison Gray (Hammonds Plains, NS), Mary McDonald (Calgary, AB), Miranda Hatt (Eastern Passage, NS), Taylor Keeping x 2 (Hacketts Cove, NS), Lauren Pepp (Brampton, ON) and Shae Demale (Red Deer, AB).
Saint Mary's is currently in first place with 1 16-2 record and get back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Antigonish to take on the 3rd place X-Women.
