Peverill races to first win of the season at Université de Moncton Invitational

The first day of October brought AUS Cross Country competition to the campus of Université de Moncton as the Huskies were in action at the Moncton Invitational.

Fifth-year athlete Andrew Peverill (Lower Sackville, NS), ran to the top of the podium on Saturday, taking the win in a time of 26:17 over the 8km distance.

Huskies Joe Stewart (12th), Teagan Scott (13th), and Rory McGarvey (14th), ran as a pack and showed excellent teamwork, crossing the line all together in a time of 28:55.

Levi Moulton of Memorial (26:40) and Liam Patterson of St.FX (27:36) would round out the men's podium, with St.FX topping the team standings.

On the women's side, the Huskies were led by Gael Cameron (Dartmouth, NS), who finished 27th in a time of 35:40. Following her across for the Huskies were first-year's Jacqueline Moore (30th) and Ashley Brady (35th), finishing in times of 37:03 and 37:46.

Lauren Lowther of Dalhousie (32:06), Breanna Sandluck of St.FX (32:19), and Taylor Rasmussen of St.FX (32:23) capped of the podium on the women's side, with St.FX taking top spot on the women's team standings.

Next up for the Huskies is the annual AUS-RSEQ Interlock Meet in Quebec City on October 8th.
