Stewart, Hatt named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Oct. 9-15, 2023

Men's football receiver Liam Stewart and women's hockey forward Miranda Hatt have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending October 15, 2023.

Liam Stewart, a third year receiver from Port Coquitlam, BC is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week ending October 15, 2023.

In Friday's 33-18 win over Acadia, Stewart was named Player of the Game after making three catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns. His 79-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter gave the Huskies the lead, while his 39-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter helped seal the win.

On the season, Stewart leads the Huskies and ranks third in the AUS in both receiving yards (365), and receiving touchdowns (3).

Miranda Hatt, a fifth year forward from Regina, SK is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week ending October 15, 2023.

In Thursday's home-opener, Hatt recorded two assists and scored a shootout goal in a 4-3 shootout win over Moncton. On Saturday, Hatt scored a powerplay goal in the Huskies 3-2 shootout loss to St. Thomas.

Through three games, Hatt is tied for the team lead in scoring with three points.
